Thanks for stopping by! I’m excited to share our many musical options with you. Music has been my constant companion through life, but playing in the hospital for UF Health/Shands Arts in Medicine for 25 years has brought my appreciation and understanding of it to a much deeper level.
Because I believe that music does have an amazing impact on our lives through emotion, memory, joy, and celebration, I love to play for weddings, parties, concerts and special events, even memorials and tributes. Besides my solo piano option, our eclectic bands can provide the music that’s best suited to your occasion and venue. Whether it’s sophisticated, romantic vintage songs from the American songbook; the swingin’ sounds of big band horns and jazz; classic rock and rhythm & blues; or acoustic folk with an old-time Florida feel, we’ve got the perfect musical backdrop to add just the right element of class and fun. And our musical icon tribute concerts are a great hit with sold-out audiences every time!
Please visit the links above to see and hear new recordings, discover some of our tribute shows, meet a few of our musicians, and find out how to book the right band for your upcoming event. Our options range from solo piano, harp, or guitar to MoonDancer (jazz, swing pop, dance, and R&B), Trio Fantastique (classical and New Age), and Patchwork (folk, bluegrass, and swing), as well as specialty shows like Tapestry Rewoven, Woodstock Revisited, and Both Sides Now: Celebrating the Music of Joni Mitchell.
We look forward to playing for you!
MoonDancer is an eclectic, jazz, swing, and rhythm & blues band led by vocalist/pianist Cathy DeWitt. Cathy has been compared vocally with Anita O’Day, Doris Day, and Diana Krall, and she has performed with Dave Frishberg, Rob Bargad, Bruce Forman, and Bobby Sanabria. Bassist David Ottenberg, a graduate with a master’s degree in music, is constantly in demand, working in bands like the Nick DeCarlis Trio and In the Window. Drummer/sound engineer Rob Rothschild, often called on to play for touring musicians traveling through the state, has played with Lesley Gore, Billy J. Kramer, and Little Jake and the Soul Searchers. Performances by MoonDancer include the Cummer Museum Jazz Concert Series in Jacksonville, Jazz Up Dunnellon!, UF JazzFest, and concerts for the Gainesville Friends of Jazz. The band has been recorded and broadcast on several radio and television programs, including the national PBS show CD Highway. See MoonDancer in action on YouTube.
